Biography

Lauren is currently a lecturer teaching Auditing, Business Ethics and Management Accounting and Finance to second year students, which is her dream job. She loves teaching and interacting with students, and this passion was born when she completed her first year of articles as an academic trainee at Monash University. Her year as an academic trainee enabled her to switch perspectives from being a student for four years, to being on the other side of the classroom, an experience which enabled her to be relatable to her students.

Lauren finished the rest of her articles at BDO, a medium sized audit firm which enabled her to gain experience in auditing clients in various sectors. During her articles she passed the SAICA ITC board exam on the first attempt in 2018, and the APC board exam on the first attempt in 2019.

Lauren joined the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants as a member in April 2021.

Aside for a deep love of the academic environment, Lauren loves animals and is involved in supporting various animal shelters.
